Shoreview School of Music is a community music school in North Oaks, Minnesota, founded in 2026 by local resident, parent, and musician Tyrus Thompson. The school provides high quality private music lessons designed to support school band programs and individual musical goals.

Tyrus brings years of professional performance experience from touring nationally in punk, ska, and rock and roll bands. As a parent of a student enrolled in middle school band, he understands what families and school music teachers expect from private music instruction. Clear structure. Strong fundamentals. Whether a student is looking for extra help with school band, preparing to start middle school music, or pursuing personal musical goals, instruction is focused on building confidence, technique, and musical understanding.

Opening in Fall 2026, Shoreview School of Music will offer one on one music lessons in piano, guitar, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, and percussion for kids, teens, and adults. Programs are designed for beginners and developing musicians and follow a clear path of progression.
